Basis point (bp)
A basis point is one hundredth of a percent, 0.01%. Spreads, fees and yields are often quoted in basis points because they are small.
Tesla’s perpetual on Binance had a spread of 0.01 on a price of about 382.90 on 10 October 2026: 0.26 basis points. Twist Bioscience’s had 0.21 on about 160.70: 13 basis points, fifty times wider in relative terms.
