Reduce-only order
A reduce-only order can only shrink or close an open position. It can never open a new position or flip it to the other side.
On futures, marking a stop loss or take profit as reduce-only means that if the position is already closed, a leftover order cannot open a fresh trade you never wanted. Names and details vary by exchange.
