Crypto asset
A crypto asset is a digital asset recorded on a blockchain, such as Bitcoin or Ether. Crypto assets trade on exchanges around the clock, every day of the year.
If a crypto asset sits in your own wallet, you control it directly; on an exchange, the exchange holds it for you. Much of crypto trading happens not in the assets themselves but in perpetual futures on them.
