Doji

A doji is a candle whose open and close are almost equal, so it has almost no body, usually with wicks on both sides. Price moved during the period but ended about where it began.

On 16 February 2026 Bitcoin’s daily candle was a doji: open and close almost the same, with wicks above and below. The name comes from the Japanese candlestick tradition. A doji describes what happened, not what comes next: it matters most where it forms, for example at a level.
