Marubozu
A marubozu is a candle that is almost all body, with little or no wick: it opened near one end of its range and closed near the other. One side was in control for the whole period.
The name is Japanese, from the candlestick tradition. On 5 February 2026 Bitcoin’s daily candle was a down marubozu: it fell about 14% from open to close (73,138 to 62,868) with almost no wicks. An up marubozu closes at or near its high, a down one at or near its low.
