Candle body
The body is the thick part of a candle, between the open and the close. A long body means price moved far from open to close; a tiny body means the period ended near where it began.
On an up candle the open is the bottom of the body and the close the top; on a down candle it is the reverse. The body says nothing about how far price travelled in between: that is what the wicks show. A candle with almost no body is a doji; one that is almost all body is a marubozu.
